Information You Send Directly
Information entered into a name, phone, or address search is sent to the third-party provider that supplies those results. Torrance Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the submitted search on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to answer or route the request.
Routine Technical Data
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps in ordinary server logs. We use aggregate information to maintain the pages and understand general traffic. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How That Data Is Used
The limited information described above supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, and page improvement. We do not sell visitor lists or build individual user profiles from ordinary visits.
External Portals and Services
Links lead to Los Angeles County and California records portals, Torrance library collections, archives, and sponsored search tools. The destination’s privacy policy governs anything submitted there. The sponsored result provider is a separate company, and its data practices are outside this policy.
Who Can Receive Technical Data
Hosting and support providers may process server logs for the purposes above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described in the technical-data section. Disclosure may also occur when valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only for as long as the stated operational purposes require. There are no user accounts here, so Torrance Residents Directory does not hold a password or user profile to expose.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us through the Contact page so the material can be reviewed and removed.
California Data Rights
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, appears in Civil Code section 1798.100 and following. Subject to its exceptions, a California resident may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain sharing or sale practices. Because Torrance Residents Directory keeps little direct user data, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask.
The Delete Act, Civil Code sections 1798.99.80 and following, created the state DROP process for registered data brokers. That process does not delete deeds, court files, library archives, or other records held by a public custodian. Requests concerning those records must go to the Los Angeles County or Torrance office that maintains them. California’s Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 and following, governs access to many existing public records, not removal from this reference.
Changes to This Policy
Any revision will be posted on this page with the updated text. Continuing to use Torrance Residents Directory after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
